Today's Fab Tip:
Don't you hate it when you use a shiny top coat and your polish still turns dull after two days? Here's how to make the most of it.
"When your polish gets dull: Go with it and paint on a matte top coat."
--Taken from Seventeen magazine, June/July 2015, page 52.
The matte topcoat will keep it looking less dull and more fashion-forward, since the only way to recover that shine is to take it off and repaint. A matte topcoat will keep your mani lasting longer.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Rock Star Braid-hawk
Today's Fab Tip:
This is an edgy and badass look rocked by Paper Towns actress Halston Sage in the newest issue of Seventeen. (Yes, I am 25 and still read Seventeen, because it's full of awesome beauty advice and how-to's like this!) Basically the look is a faux-hawk of french braids and a Kat Von D-esque face tattoo, which is totally my look for today. Here's how to get it:
"Show off your hard-core side with a braid-hawk and (temporary) face tats. For your hair, create three French braids: one on each side of your head and one on the top. Weave each one until you reach the base of your head, then weave the three plaits together into a side braid. For eye art, simply use a star-shaped stencil and black liner[.]"
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, June/July 2015, page 89.
My advice is to use a root-boosting volumizing spray to give your your top french braid some height, and spray the completed look with a texturizing finishing spray. Go with nude gloss and just mascara for makeup, since you don't want your eyes or lips to compete with the star tats. In the magazine Halston Sage is wearing a pleather crop top and jeans, but for me, since I personally despise crop tops, I would wear jeans, my white AC/DC tank top, and a black moto jacket.
What do you think of this look? Would you style it differently? Let me know in the comments.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: All Day Bedhead Waves
Today's Fab Tip:
An easy hairstyle I love is bedhead waves. It's simple. You just wash your hair before bed and, when it's mostly dry, braid it, and then sleep in the braids. A little salt spray can give it a piecey texture. Unbraid the next morning, and instant waves. Easy and fabulous. The problem is that the waves don't always last all day. The weight of my super long down to my knees hair causes the waves to straighten themselves out after a while. That's why I'm very happy to have found this little tip.
"If your waves fall quickly, finish with a texturizing spray instead of hairspray-- it'll lock in bends."
--Taken from Seventeen magazine, May 2015, page 52.
Not Your Mother's Double Take, L'Oreal's TXT It, and Garnier Fructis's De-Constructed (the last of which is the one I use) are all great finishing texture sprays you can use. Try it out with volumizing mascara and a little gloss for a sexy but very wearable everyday look.
Stay fabulous!

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Vamp Lips
Today's Fab Tip: a very glamorous and sexy dark lip.
"Vampy pout: Dark gloss makes a fierce statement! One swipe of deep berry is all you need to make your look ready to rock all night long."
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, February 2014, page 50.
Glossy dark lips keeps this look flirty and casual. Go for a matte vamp lip for a more sophisticated look. Remember to smile mysteriously for extra sexiness.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Berry Blush
Today's Fab Tip:
"A berry blush livens up your whole face. Brush on the apples of cheeks; sweep out to the sides of your face."
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, October 2013, Michelle Phan's Beauty Confidence Tricks on page 123.
Berry is great for a natural-looking flush, especially in fall, but be sure to choose a lip color that doesn't compete with it. You don't want your face to look too red, after all.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Fast Updo
Today's Fab Tip:
"Quickie Topknot: Even wet hair can get mega likes! Just gather damp hair and twist it into a bun. Then blow-dry hair along the hairline (it keeps you from looking undone) and apply shine serum to smooth."
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, October 2013, page 56.
This is a hairstyle for those days when you wake up late and need to hurry to look fabulous. Which is practically every day for me.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Add A Little Grunge To Your Look
Today's Fab Tip: a hot trend, grunge!
"Go grunge without looking sloppy -- one piece your outfit should be form fitting or show a bit of skin."
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, September 2013, page 64.
An easy tip to be grunge and pretty and very of-the-moment.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Effortless, Edgy, and Chic
Today's Fab Tip:
"Wear edgy items with structured basics like a black blazer or a pencil skirt, so you don't look like you're trying too hard."
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, September 2013, page 64.
It's also a great way to dress up a studded boot or concert tee and, of course, a great way to look fabulous.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: A New Twist To Stacked Bracelets
Today's Fab Tip:
"Wear your arm candy stacked on top of your sleeve to amp up outerwear. Mix colors and metals for an ultra-cool vibe!"
-- Taken from Seventeen magazine, September 2013, page 172.
This is perfect to wear atop jackets as the weather transitions to autumn. Have fun with it, and be fabulous!

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Red Eyes
Today's Fab Tip: smokey red eyes!
"Red isn't usually a color you'd wear on your eyes, but if you mix it with earth tones, it gives off a sultry vibe. The trick: Use a fluffy brush to swirl brown and red together and dust from lids to browbones."
-- Taken from Seventeen September 2013, page 96.
Be sure to blend well and use a light touch to keep it soft and sunrise-like.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Textured Ponytail
Today's Fab Tip:
"Make second-day hair work in a cool pony by spritzing with dry shampoo and lightly teasing all over. Leave some pieces free (so it's not perfect!), and put hair in a semi-low pony."
-- Taken from Seventeen September 2013, page 112.
I would recommend a dry shampoo with some volumizing properties, like Tresemme's, and of course lightly mist hairspray so that the pony stays artfully messy all day.
