Thank You, Everyone At Bloomingcon!

Hey, everybody! Only a few more days until Evil Walks premieres! Are you excited? I am. Excited and freaking out so much.

I just want to give a big shout-out to everyone who came to support me at Bloomingcon this weekend! Cosplaying fem!Castiel both days, I was selling bracelets and protection bottles for Hell's Bells and giving out free Tarot readings, as well as also running a booth of Japanese snacks and drinks for the Asian grocery store where I'm manager. It was a great weekend, so thank you everyone who came, and especially a big big thank you to the wonderful staff and fellow vendors and artists in the vendors' room with me! It was great working with all of you, and you were a wonderful help! I still have Hunter's Bracelets available to buy if anyone wants one, and of course if anyone wants a tarot reading, please contact me.

And don't forget: Hell's Bells' first book Evil Walks starts on Thursday!

Daily Draw: The Chariot Reversed

Today's card:

The Chariot reversed. This major arcana card in its upright position is about success, conquering obstacles, victory; but reversed? In a way, it can symbolize that I'm letting obstacles conquer me. Another interpretation is of a ruthless and chaotic method of going after one's goals. It means I'm not going the right way about my plans. I'm not being methodical. I'm driving my chariot like a maniac and leaving a trail of wreckage in my wake. I need to slow down and not push myself so hard.

Daily Draw: Reminder

Today's daily draw is from an oracle card deck rather than a Tarot deck. Oracle cards are very unique and fun to read, and while they can take more time to understand since they are without the tradition and structure of Tarot, they can help to offer different kinds of insight into one's life. This particular deck is the Wisdom of the House of Night, which is a tie in to the House of Night YA paranormal series, which I really enjoy a lot.

Today's card:

Reminder. This card is about remembering what I've learned so that I don't keep making the same mistakes repeatedly. It's also about not forgetting the important things about myself that working with Tarot and oracle cards have revealed to me. As my daily message, at some point today I'm going to need to remember something very important to make the right decision. Additionally, I can interpret it as not forgetting my path, keeping my end goals in sight.

Daily Draw: The Sun

Today's daily draw:

Crystal Visions Tarot Deck

The Sun. This Major Arcana card represents inspiration and enlightenment. Like The Empress yesterday, I see this card as encouragement to let my writing ideas flow, that I am doing the right thing by focusing on my book series. To me, this series is my baby. I want it to succeed so badly. It won't succeed if I'm not happy with it, and this card is my subconscious's message to me that I need to let myself feel happy with my progress in my writing. Otherwise I'll continue obsessing over revisions and trying to get it perfect, and that's not healthy for me.

Daily Draw: The Empress

Today's daily draw:

Crystal Visions Tarot Deck

The Empress. This Major Arcana card is about creativity and fertility. To me this card represents encouragement in my writing. I have great things planned (stay tuned for October 1!), and I need to keep working on my ideas in order to succeed as a writer. The powerful femininity of The Empress is exactly what I need to keep my writing goals in sight. The butterflies represent transformation and rebirth, and that symbolizes the ideas in my head transforming into written words on the page. The Empress is stepping into the water, and water always represents imagination and creative emotions in tarot cards, and that to me means that I need to keep my book series moving forward.

Daily Draw: Ten of Pentacles Reversed

So this is a new little addition to the blog. If you are familiar with Tarot or oracle cards, a daily draw is shuffling and choosing one card each morning, and that card means something for you that day. It could be how you feel. It could mean what's in store for you that day, what you need to focus on, what you need to avoid, the theme of the day. It all depends on the card and your intuitive interpretation of it. I'm going to be posting my daily draws here, as a little snapshot of my day.

Today's card:

Crystal Visions Tarot Deck

The Ten of Pentacles Reversed. Pentacles are the Minor Arcana suit associated with the element of earth. It's all about the physical and material realm, body and health, finances and work, hearth and home, etc. In this reversed position, the Ten of Pentacles is about insecurity, either financially or physically. To me, I see the meaning of this card as a reflection of my worries about the end of the month bills to pay and equally  a reflection of my body image issues. In regards to the latter, I've been trying to lose weight and haven't been losing it as quickly as I would like. In its upright position, the Ten of Pentacles is about prosperity and blessings. I take this daily draw as a message from my subconscious that I need to stop stressing out about every little detail, whether it's my finances or my slow progress of weight loss. I have to take things one thing at a time in order to reach success.
