Fabulous Tip of the Day: Natural Looking Blush

Today's Fab Tip:

Blush can be difficult to do sometimes. A little too much, and you can start to look like a clown or like you're really incredibly embarrassed. Using two shades for blush can make it look much more natural.

"Mimic a natural flush. Swirl peach blush on cheekbones, then add pink to the apples. The diffused combo is so sweet, says celeb makeup artist Kristofer Buckle."

This is great paired with neutral eyes and lips for a no-makeup look.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Gel Touch-ups

Today's Fab Tip:

Lately I've been obsessed with my Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel-Creme. It's freaking amazing, and I love the way it makes my skin feel. It's lightweight without being too heavy on my oily skin, but still moisturizing enough to keep my oil glands from kicking it into overdrive. It can also make your skin look dewey and youthful and just gorgeous. Here's a little tip to use a gel moisturizer, like Clinique's or Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel, to help touch up concealer and keep your face makeup looking fresh all day.

"If your skin looks dull by afternoon, or your concealer starts to crinkle, put a dab of gel on your fingertip and gently tap, tap, tap over your makeup. It quickly reconstitutes dry pigments and gives skin a dewy glow without disrupting the makeup underneath."
--Taken from Allure magazine, May 2015, page 182.

Seriously, doing this little touch-up with my little sample pot of Clinique gel-creme has been a lifesaver. So great for my skin, especially around the nose, which gets so dried out during allergy season.

Enjoy your beautiful skin!

Fabulous Tip of the Day: DIY Tinted Sunscreen

Today's Fab Tip:

It's starting to get warmer, which means spending more time outside, yay fun! But that also means needing to wear a higher SPF and reapplying sunscreen more frequently (not as fun). Here's a tip by makeup artist Carmindy, formerly of What Not To Wear, from the archives to keep your sunscreen from whitening your skin a little too much:

"Tint your SPF: It can sometimes look too white on skin. To nix the Casper cast, mix in a drop of foundation before applying."
-- Carmindy in Cosmopolitan magazine, April 2010, page 75.

There you are: a DIY way to give your face protection and minimal coverage without adding too many layers. Perfect for these days when the humidity is rising. Replace the foundation with BB cream for added moisture and benefits.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Dewy Skin

Today's Fab Tip:

"For a fresh, dewy complexion, avoid powder overload; apply it only to those areas prone to shine, like your nose, chin, and forehead."
-- Taken from Marie Claire Hair & Makeup by Jane Campsie, page 84.

This will help to prevent a floury face and will make your skin look fresh, young, and healthy.
