Fabulous Tip of the Day: Buff When Contouring

Today's Fab Tip:

Contouring can be hard. You don't want it to look like you've drawn a line on your cheeks. The important thing is to blend.

"To make sure your contour looks flawless, I recommend using a clean powder brush with a little transparent loose powder to buff the edges out."
-- Taken from Nylon March 2015, p. 52.

Doing so will help your contouring look natural. For me, contouring is a must to make my cheeks less fat-looking and my face less rectangular-looking, but contouring is mainly used to give your face dimension. You don't want your face looking flat, after all.

Contour away.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Dewy Skin

Today's Fab Tip:

"For a fresh, dewy complexion, avoid powder overload; apply it only to those areas prone to shine, like your nose, chin, and forehead."
-- Taken from Marie Claire Hair & Makeup by Jane Campsie, page 84.

This will help to prevent a floury face and will make your skin look fresh, young, and healthy.

Fabulous Tip of the Day: Luminizing Skin With Powder

Today's Fab Tip:

"Glistening Skin: Add a small amount of silver powder (crush a pressed eyeshadow, using the flat side of a ruler) to loose face powder. Blend together and dust on to shoulders or parts of the body that may be revealed when you are wearing cut-away clothing to give the skin luminosity. Alternatively, mix foundation containing light-reflecting particles with body moisturizer."
-- Taken from Marie Claire Hair and Makeup by Jane Campsie, page 29.

Another option would be to use loose pigment silver eyeshadow, instead of crushing a pressed shadow. At any rate, this is a great way to get glowing skin on a night out.
