So Last Night's Supernatural Season Finale...

Spoilers ahead. Last night was intense. Very, very intense. I still don't know how I'm supposed to feel about the SPN season ten finale.

Let's start with Death. Death was awesome. Death loves Mexican food. Death just revealed a massive amount of mythology, telling us that God and the Archangels, including Lucifer, fought back a Big Bad called the Darkness and that the Mark of Cain is the lock keeping the Darkness at bay. Then Dean killed Death.

What does killing Death mean? Are we facing a Death Takes A Holiday/Reaper Man situation? They didn't explain the consequences!

What can the Darkness do? What kind of an entity is it? Are there multiple branches of it, like the Leviathans? Is there a connection to demons? It looked really demony, didn't it?

Let's talk about Cas. My poor baby. Hurting him weighed heavily on Dean, but Dean didn't call to say goodbye to him. He was kind of left out of the action with Dean, and that really bothers me, and not just because of Destiel. Dean couldn't kill himself without saying goodbye to Castiel. He just couldn't. And then that watch dog spell-- it kills its victims! Is Rowena killing Cas? Is Cas going to kill Crowley first? He has an angel sword; he could kill him permanently!

And WHY didn't they cycle back to Metatron taking the Demon Tablet? Why did they leave that dangling?

And every time I think about that scene with Sam and Dean, talking over their codependency issues. That and the very words "She's all yours" are making me cry again as I write this. And I already cried myself to sleep last night.

And WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY that cliffhanger?! Now we have to wait forever for season 11! Damn it, SPN!

So that's a brief summary of my reaction to it. What was your opinion of last night's finale? What do you think of the Darkness? What do you think season 11 has in store for us? Let me know in the comments.

A Day In The Life

So I finally got myself a copy of Rags and Bones, the anthology of twists on classic stories, and I'm so excited about it because it's full of dark fantasy authors I absolutely love and who completely inspire me, included the incredible Neil Gaiman, the amazing Melissa Marr, the fantastic Holly Black, Kelley Armstrong, Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl, Garth Nix, and more, and it is awesome!

Seriously, Holly Black retelling Carmilla and Neil Gaiman's version of Sleeping Beauty, how much more perfect can it get?

All pictures from Tumblr.
But now I have a problem. I don't know where to put it on my bookshelf.

Do I put it with my Neil Gaiman books?

That is, in my non-graphic novel, short story collection of Neil Gaiman books. I have multiple Neil Gaiman sections on my many bookshelves.

Do I put it among my Melissa Marr books?

Among the other Melissa Marr and Kelley Armstrong short story collections?

Among my Holly Black books?

It's too big to fit with my Garth Nix books.

And too small to fit with the Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl Beautiful Creatures books.

So where do I put it? Decisions, decisions... This is going to be plaguing me all day as a way of distracting me from the inevitable pain of tonight's SPN season finale.

Where do you think I should put Rags and Bones?

Judging By Appearances

I am at Hot Topic looking at the Game of Thrones and SPN Funko Pop! Dolls, when a sales associate approaches me.

"So," he says, "do you watch Supernatural?"

I pause before answering, taking a moment to glance at my SPN Team Free Will graphic tee, my SPN earrings, my enormous SPN backpack, my Dean Winchester-inspired army green motorcycle jacket, my angel wing necklace, and the keys in my hand from which two SPN keychains are dangling, one of which has the same anti-possession symbol as on my earrings.

"What gave me away?" I reply in a deadpan manner resembling Raven's from Teen Titans.

"I just didn't want to assume," he assures me and proceeds to show me the new Leviathan!Castiel figurine. Which is awesome and makes me cry cuz of season seven feels at the same time.

And yeah, that's what it's like to run into me shopping.

Post One Hundred! And Fabulous Tip of the Day

Hey, everyone! This is the one hundredth post on the Gossip Ghoul Blog! Exciting, right? It is to me. It's taken me a long time to get to this point. I just have to keep working, keep trying to get ahead, keep writing, as difficult as it can get some time. I have a lot of great things planned for this blog, and I'm working hard to get it together. I have the new laptop now (Thanks a billion to my best friend for donating her old one to me! XOXO!), and there are a lot of fall trends starting up to talk about. The way I see it, life is short, so I have to be fabulous in the time I have left to live. There's too little time for me to keep getting depressed and letting that take over everything about me. I want to share that fabulosity with all of you.

Today's Fab Tip:

"Worn-In Lips: ... For diffused colour, blend a little concealer around the edges of the lip line with a cotton bud. To get that stained effect, Chase Aston, The Body Shop International Make-up Artist, recommends buffing your lipstick of choice with an eyeshadow brush."
-- Taken from Elle magazine, UK edition, September 2013, page 311.

A soft, faded lip is a beautiful way to make a red lip a little less intense for day. Pair with soft, minimal eyes.

And as a special treat for the one hundredth post (and because I can finally embed videos again), a funny scene from The Greatest TV Show Ever to brighten up your day. It's brightened up mine, after all.

Howl At The Moon

Back in May, my friend J and I decided that this summer we would watch a series together that neither of us have previously seen. We have similar tastes in books, movies, and shows (with  a few exceptions -- I will never like Anchorman, sorry), and viewing a few marathons together was a great way to bond before she left for her internship. After much debate, we selected Teen Wolf.

Picture belongs to MTV.

All I knew about Teen Wolf previously is that it involves werewolves (obviously) and that the big slash ship is Sterek. I didn't know it's MTV. I didn't know it's an adaptation of the cult Michael J. Fox film. I didn't know Scott is the main character. I didn't even know what Stiles and Derek look like. The only thing I really knew is that Sterek is the big rival ship for Destiel.

Now, I am a huge Destiel fan, and I desperately want the pairing to become official for Supernatural season nine. I just about melted into bittersweet sobs when Dean told Castiel, "I need you," while Castiel was struggling against mind control not to kill him. I am currently working on multiple -- that's right, multiple -- Destiel fan videos. Therefore, reading that Sterek is considered the Destiel of Teen Wolf instantly intrigued me.

J and I watched the first couple episodes, and immediately we were hooked. The show is incredible! It has intriguing storylines and brilliantly developed characters. Every single character is interesting and likeable,* even minor background and side characters. (Who else here wants to create a fan club for Greenberg? Our motto would be: Greenberg, We Love You Even Though Everybody Hates You And We Have No Idea What You Look Like.) Even the more villainous characters are loveable and sympathetic, especially snarky Peter, and who else here cried for Deucalion at the end of Visionary? Speaking of crying, I do cry a lot during Teen Wolf, especially this current season. Season one was great; season two was even better; and season three is amazing, with each episode being more intensive than the last. After this past episode, I'm dying for this coming Moonday. Is Jennifer actually Paige? I must know!

Now I have another reason to smile at the full moon.

* Except for Jennifer. She's not very likeable, but she's still very interesting. Though truth be told, we just hate her for manipulating Derek and keeping him from Stiles.
