Fabulous Tip of the Day: Simple and Luxe

"Amp up your work look: Pair a bejeweled top with a pencil skirt."

This is an easy way to upgrade a simple outfit and look more sophisticated, chic, and luxe, while still work-appropriate. Throw a bejeweled sweater over a button down with the pencil skirt, a pair of black opaque tights, and black pumps, and you've got more layers to keep you warm during these cold January days. Just don't pair with a necklace or statement earrings; you don't want too much bedazzlement. Keep it simple and elegant.

Below is a picture of my brand new statement sweater from the Phillip Lim for Target collection, and yes, I definitely plan to wear it with miniskirts, especially my Princess Vera Wang faux leather mini for an edgy vibe. This is a great way to work stylish layers as the weather starts to get cooler.
